Online Shared Accounts

GTS 2.2 Online Service

The new admin client is totally alpha, but it's mostly working so....

It's time to work with 2.2!

Getting Started

At the bottom of the page is the client. Click on it, and you'll connect to our online 2.2 server.

Create an account by entering your name and password and pressing create. After that, you can use the login button to re-connect later.

Note: The grindwork.com website accounts are separate from GTS accounts. You do not need to register on the Grindwork website to use the online GTS client.

Documentation and Learning

The version 2 GTS is very different from the far simpler 1.x GTS. Please go to the manual page at the documentation page.

The examples and samples still mostly work from 1.x that the rest of the page still shows, but they have to be entered into Totl files instead of pasted into a rule-set editor, which 2.x doesn't use anymore.

The Online Service

When ready, the online service is a $100 year fully hosted cloud server that allows you to create your own applications distributing only your clients and using the server you create within GTS written in Totl.

That leaves us responsible for all the networking, admin, updates, backups, etc...

Of course, there's a quota so when your usage exceeds the quota you'll be charged for the excess. The details on the quotas are forthcoming and during the beta period there are no charges anyway. The intent is that the quota should be enough so most users won't ever hit it.

Anything written using the online service would work unmodified on any GTS instance, including a dedicated instance or even a co-located GTS appliance.

Please help us help you!

GTS makes server writing mind-blowingly easier, but we need feedback to make GTS itself even better!

Most importantly, when you find that something "should be easy" but is instead difficult, please let us know. We may be able to show you a way to do it easily ... but it's more likely that you are right and we can improve GTS to make your life easier.

This is why our accounts are free during this beta ... we want to make GTS shine and we're willing to let our first few brave customers escape the minor cost for their first year.

We'll also be using this period to determine what the quotas need to be in order to let people work without running out. Don't worry about quotas right now, just worry about learning GTS and teaching it your application.

Welcome aboard

And welcome aboard ... we're glad you're here. Fire up the admin client and start the machine thinking.
