Online Service Upgraded to 2.2!

The online service is now fully backed by PostgreSQL!

This isn't just a speed and storage improvement, but also 2.2 holds the core for the new protocols to be added.

Right now, we're testing a telnet protocol (which allows the system to speak in "lines" such as IRC, HTTP, telnet, multi-player text games like MUCK/MUD/MUSH/MOO, and the like). That should go online very shortly.

We're also getting a draft of a C++ full feature protocol in. It's running un-encrypted but provides full integration with GTS using boost libraries.

The JavaScript is encoding/decoding, which is necessary to passing full integration through HTML5/WebSockets. That's also providing support for HTTP.

So, yes, one could write a web-server in Totl using the telnet line protocol, but please don't! It would be painful using string operators that way! We'll have native web serving for all HTML5 browsers very soon!

Please contact us if you'd like to use the current ActionScript 3/Flash libraries. With the server version stable, it's going to be a few weeks of client integration libraries and you'll be able to do more than just run with the admin client!
